Madskillz
Present turntablism to the limit. Fast T 2nd in the UK DMC finals is
a force to be reckoned
with when it comes to deck wizardry. Fast
T and DJ Severe will be performing their DMC competition
sets this year at the Grassroots Festival 2006.
Scratch DJs don’t just play records, they play sounds. Scratching,
or turntablism as it is now known, use the decks as instruments, playing
tiny chunks of records and using the mixer to cut these noises up even
smaller.
Baby Jinx
Born and raised in Malawi, Jinx recorded his first single at age 9. The
self produced UK debut has given birth to Jinx (a.k.a. MUNA)

experiences switching delivery styles between hardcore, soul and party/funky.

vocal talent and capability.
Freestyle rap is
an improvised form of rapping with no previously composed lyrics
and reflecting a direct mapping of the mental state and performing
situation of the artist.
Breakdancing
Breakdancing began in America. It is athletic and gymnastic and uses
some old ideas turned into something
new and exciting. Breakdancing is about communication. The body is
used to send messages and another
breaker will know immediately what you’re trying to say.
In
the early 70’s
the street gangs of the South Bronx began to use dance instead of
street fighting to stake out their territory. ‘Breakdance Battles’ allowed
a creative outlet for otherwise unchallenged energy.
Breakdance battle
became a ritual competition between rival gangs in which certain
moves were so complex and often dangerous that simply being able
to do them at all showed who was in charge.
It has come this
far largely because of the work of breakdancing crews. In their team
work the crews added the next essential element, the superb gymnastics
which make it so athletically demanding and visually exciting.
